.... 提起关锦鹏,都是从《胭脂扣》说起。看“我爱电影”那里,一帮李碧华的FANS写《胭脂扣》实在是好。看到那群女同胞华美细腻的文笔,自己实在不好意思献丑。不过七天的假期也够长的,就干脆坐在电脑前,重新放那首林忆莲的歌,点上从来不抽的香烟,慢慢的开始漫无目的,无主题的点击键盘。
他的电影不算多,还有几部纪录片总是无缘见到。前几年那部既不叫好又不叫座的《有时跳舞》买回去机器却不识碟。碟市里除了现在的这部话题电影找不到他的旧作。他不象王家卫那么有观众,连盗版碟都出一套王家卫全集。
承认他及不上王家卫的才华横溢,灵思如泉涌。但一直更喜欢他的电影。王家卫的电影里,男人和女人放纵的爱着,伤着,沉迷着。而他的镜头是冷静的,如悲天悯人的双眼,俯视着人世间的弱者,有30年代的妓女,有默片时代的女明星,还有北京那两个我们喜欢的人。

回到《胭脂扣》。
About [Rouge]
上初中流行粤语歌,那时最红的女歌手是梅艳芳。14、5岁的我们哪里知道什么是好歌,只知道赶时髦罢了。后来听说她拿了影后,还是演一个女鬼。那时应景的出了原著,封面就是她,里面有很多剧照,薄薄的小册子,显然是以电影为卖点了。于是买来看,有意思,倒不是爱情,而是李碧华尖刻的笔,尤其是写80年代的女性楚娟,十分有喜剧味道。开始留意这位女作家,到慢慢喜欢,是后话了。
During my secondary school days, Cantonese pop songs were very popular, and Anita Mui at that time was the most popular female singer. As we were only about 14 and 15, we didn't really know what meant good songs, all we did was following the trend. Then we learnt that she was accredited as the Best Actress, playing the role of a ghost. So that book used her picture for the cover. There were many pictures about the film, though only a little booklet, it was for promoting the film. We all bought that book, not really for love story, but for the writing style of Lee Pik Wah. She was so up to the point. Especially when she wrote about a female, Cho Chuan, of the 80s, full of feel of comedy. Just started to notice this female writer, and liked her progressively later.

好漂亮的名字!不知是怎样的一个人,脑海里浮现出谢晋的脸。
现在知道了,他那时还不满30,比如今自己大不了多少。
看到这部电影却是几年后了,一样的是和老妈一起看,看到男女主角抽鸦片时,老妈有些烦,租的什么片子?结果战战兢兢的看完,还被教训了一句,以后不要租这些东西看。
It was after a few years when I got to watch this movie. Same as before, watched with my mother. When both the leading male and female characters were smoking opium, my mother was a bit troubled. Why rent such kind of film? Anyhow, I finished watching this movie, and got lectured by my mother.
从此再没看过,模糊的印象里,还是觉得不如原著,不知是不是先入为主。不喜欢结尾让张国荣又再出现,哭喊如花的名字;不喜欢硬生的加入一段80年代拍女鬼电影来做个对照。
I have never watched that movie again. In my faded memory of this film, I always think that the original story is better than the film. Maybe it is just before I read the book first. I don't really like the ending, with Leslie appeared again crying for [Yu Far]. Don't like a part of a female ghost of 80s added as reflection.
但忘不了阿梅一身男装对着12少唱起粤曲,还有烟雾弥漫中的颓废。
But I can never forget about Ah Mui disguised as a male singing Cantonese opera to "12 Siu", and being so downhearted in drowsy smoky atmosphere.
原来颓废也是美的。
Never thought downheartedness can also be a beauty.

李碧华的创作中,《胭脂扣》是最简短的一个老套故事,既不像《青蛇》,徐克拿着电脑特技来融入,就变了又有情有义的人性武侠;也不像《霸王别姬》,陈凯歌拿着国粹来渲染,就变了爱恨交织的人性艺术。
Among all the writings of Lee Pik Wah, [Rouge] is a simple but old style story. Not like [Green Snake], Tsui Hark introduced those high techs into it, and turned it into a warrior movie with lots of feelings; not like [Farewell to my concubine] by Chan Kai Ko, with the National Peking Opera, the story was turned to be a human art with love and hate.
《胭脂扣》,一只女鬼守着死生契阔的信念,阴间阳世地苦苦寻她自以为是的情真,真相是美好的幻灭和信念的崩塌。
In [Rouge], a female ghost just wanted to keep her promise, lingering between this world and the next, searching with so much difficulty for the real love. The truth only turned to be the destruction of a beautiful fantasy and an ardent belief.
感谢梅艳芳,感谢她的红唇烈焰,感谢她的骨瘦如柴,感谢她抿唇颌首的凄婉神情,感谢她成就了关锦鹏首度隐忍的悲剧性!
Thanks to Anita Mui, thanks to her red hot lips, thanks to her bonny figure, thanks to her sorrowful expression, and thank her for fulfilling Kwan Kin Pang's first trial of a tragedy.
死死地记得如花的几个片断,她搓着用红糖片包的汤团,怎么搓也不圆,怎么搓也不圆,放进锅里一煮,便散了一锅的浆糊,一如她无望的爱情;她望定十二少,行径着她一厢情愿的阴谋,她气若游丝,如若,你也有一点真心?!
Will never forget a few scenes of Yu Far: she was making some dumpling, but no matter how she tried, the dumpling never became round, and when dropped into the boiling water, it just turned to paste, just like her love, it was hopeless; she aimed at "12 Siu", following her own plan, she was so weak, Yu Far, are you really that devoted?!
三十年代的塘西风光,也从泛黄的报纸一跃到屏幕上,那旧时的浮世繁华,那今日的满目凄苍,那眉清目朗的十二少,那颤栗龌龃的年迈者,那逃不过宿命的人与物!
West Pong of the 30s, from the faded yellow newspaper, it appeared on the screen, the prosperity of the old days, and the sorrow of today, that handsome "12 Siu", that dirty old man, all those people and things could never escape from their fate.
